Dream Chronicles is the first of a three part well-acclaimed series. You wend your way through stunning environments, removing the obstacles that the wicked fairy Lilith has put in your path. You are trying to rescue your husband from the clutches of Lilith who has kidnapped him and put a sleeping spell on your little daughter.

The graphics are of the first order and the music is immersive and appropriate and just right and you are wrapped up in a kind of visual and musical cocoon. Each scene- and there are 32 of them- is a unit unto itself: you collect tools and utilize them in that area and cannot move on until you tidy everything up. You aren’t obliged to carry a heavy knapsack of downloaded tools throughout the game. When you finish a scene, they’re gone. A nice little touch is that an item you need will sparkle if you can’t find it, and sometimes that nut or washer or key is devilishly well hidden.

This game is not easy. The complex music puzzle in which you have to recreate notes on a piano and in the proper order might be a challenge even for a musician. And you’re going to have to have sharp eyes and an active brain as well as good ears to overcome all the thorns strewn along your way. Dream Chronicles is short, but this adventure is well worth the download price, and the download goes smoothly without a hitch.

    I loved it!

This was a fun puzzle, seek & find game.
I’ve never played one like this before so I don’t have any experience to compare it to.

The only complaint was that it was too short. I played through it in
one evening. Then they want you to play through it again and again to
see if you can get a higher score. DUH! of course you’ve already solved
all the puzzels before so its easy to do it again. Where’s the fun in that? There’s no more mystery. Things are hidden sometimes in diffrent places, but not reaLLY ALL THAT DIFFRENT.

When earlier reviewers said they could play it in one evening, they weren’t kidding. It was fun, but I finished the entire thing in less than 2 hours. It is REALLY, REALLY short.

For a long time I was a fan of the Myst games because I loved traveling through beautiful and exotic landscapes and solving challenging puzzles. Unfortunately, the puzzles were designed by Stephen Hawking for Albert Einstein to solve. OK, not THAT hard, but they were frustrating to the point that the games stopped being fun.
Enter Dream Chronicles. The first game was delightful and challenging, with all the bits and pieces needed for the solution right there on the screen. Dream Chronicles 2 improves on the first edition in that you come to more complex scenes that may have several rooms or levels to them. You then have to find out how to enter each level in turn, using clues and objects from all the other levels to solve the one you’re in. For instance, in the tower (late in the game), you must first figure out how to get in. Then, once you’re in, there’s an organ on the first level, a library on the second, a chess board on the third, and an armory on the fourth. You must figure out each story in its turn, but the second sends you back to the first, the third to the second and first, etc. It’s a much richer experience than the first Dream Chronicles, but still not so difficult that my 58 year old brain couldn’t cope with all the puzzles without consulting a walkthrough.
I highly recommend this game; it will keep you occupied for hours of delightful distraction. And again, the music is enchanting, and the scenery is truly lovely to experience.

As the 2nd in the Dream Chronicles series, this is very good. If you liked the first one, you will like this one, too. Hard enough to make you think, but not so hard as to be frustrating. I’m looking forward to the 3rd in the series!

This is the game that got me hooked on the hidden object/puzzle genre. There are three games in this series and you can play them in any order. The games takes place over multiple chapters. In each chapter there are several scenes that combine finding hidden objects, using two or more objects in combination to make something else work, and solving mini-puzzles. The graphics are beautiful and the story is intriguing but not overly verbose. At times you will be required to leave one chapter and return to another for another hidden clue. The game play is interesting, it can be tricky at times, but the puzzles are solvable without having to resort to internet cheats almost all of the time. If you like this game, I would also recommend Adventure Chronicles and Treasure Seekers: The Enchanted Canvases. I definitely recommend all the games in the Dream Chronicles series. I would say that this game is about 1/2 hidden object and 1/2 puzzles.

Great Different Kind of Game, September 23, 2011

I have this game and have replayed it several times. This game was listed as Hidden Object; but, it is the most unusual HOG I have ever seen. You look for matches of objects you see in a pile. It is not always the same way to make a match…sometimes one object is large and one is small, sometimes there are 3 of the same item to find, sometimes you must find the item that matches pictures that slide by at the bottom of the screen, and other variations. It does not get boring.

There are unique minigames which are fun to play between levels that earn you hints. At the end of some levels, you can then play the minigame whenever you want more hints…there’s no limit to hints and they are always ready, no need to wait for it to refresh.

It really is a fun game to play and I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys playing games. I am looking forward to the next Clutter game from Joe. God bless.

HO game is good, Minigames Rock!, July 9, 2011

While the main Hidden Object game is good with a fairly unique premise (clean up clutter with loads of tips on how to control clutter in your life), this game is re-playable due to the minigames that one can play via the HO game for more hints or directly access from the main menu. My favorite minigame is the one similar to a jigsaw puzzle but where the picture is broken down into strips that you put together horizontally and vertically. I wish I knew the name of this genre, but I do know that I’d buy a stand alone game of this genre if I could add my own pictures to play.
